She became an instant hero after shrugging off the worst road rash we've ever seen to finish the junior TT at the Worlds; and do a very good ride. But now there has been some bad news Lauren Dolan. Having turned 18 years old today, her injuries have forced her out of the road race in Bergen.

Lauren Dolan came to these World Championships in Bergen an unknown.
But she will return something of a hero after finishing the junior women's TT despite sustaining a dreadful injury along the way.
Dolan crashed during her test and tore her right leg. A gash on the outside of her right thigh required stitching it was so big.
But while she finished at excellent 27th despite her injuries, her Worlds campaign is at an end.
The damage to her leg means she has been forced out of the junior women's road race.

However, given her determination to get the job done, not to mention the result she would have secured but for her spill, it's a foregone conclusion we'll be seeing more of her.
