The domestic road racing scene may have been hit hard for over a year due to Covid-19, but the summer of action ahead of us is now really taking shape, with the Mondello Series having been confirmed into September.

Usher Irish Road Club has said the first of 13 installments of the series will take place next Tuesday week, June 14th. There will be two races every Tuesday night until September 7th.

An additional Saturday night fixture has also been added and will take place on July 3rd for all U18 riders; one race for junior and U16 riders and another for U14 and U12 riders.

The main events in the series - the Tuesday night races - will be the same as last year, with two races each week; one for A1-A2-A3 riders at 7:30pm and a separate A4 race at 6:30pm.

All races will be run in accordance with Covid-19 precautions, with pre-entry only - via the Cycling Ireland online system. Results from each race will be posted later on the evening of the events.

And instead of prize-giving ceremonies at the Mondello Park venue in Co Kildare, after the races each Tuesday, prizes will be lodged into riders' bank accounts in the days after each race.
