While Steven De Jongh was left stranded and unconscious with nobody to raise the alarm when he went training alone but his Strava helped save him.

His ride activity for his solo spin yesterday morning stopped without reason as he trained in the region around Girona.

And because his wife had reported him missing, the emergency services were out looking for him.

They were able to pinpoint the location where the ride stopped and search there. Thankfully De Jongh was found, having crashed off the road.

He seems to have been missing for five hours and suffered a concussion during his crash. The former pro cyclist turned Trek-Segafredo directeur sportif was unconscious.

But he was taken away by ambulance and brought to hospital in Girona where he was recovering last night.
