Riders who have been training all winter and were looking forward to getting back into action this weekend have been left disappointed with the news that the first race promotion of the new season has been cancelled.

It has emerged that all of the races due to taken place as part of the annual Ned Flanagan Memorial promotion in Co Kildare on Sunday, February 14th, have been cancelled.

A total of five four were planned including a combined event for A1 and A2 riders and separate races for A3s, A4s and women.

And while that number of races was subject to a sufficiently large sign-on on the day, the very popular promotion by Newbridge CC has never have any difficulty pulling a huge crowd from all over the country.
