However, the case has been adjourned for
sentencing to day after a guilty plea was entered in respect of two charges.

He admitted killing Irish club cyclist
and seriously injuring another by driving dangerously two years ago.

Initially he had indicated he was
willing to admit the lesser charge of driving carelessly but not dangerously.

However, when the case came before the
just over three weeks ago he pleaded guilty to the more serious offences.

Judge Neil Rafferty QC directed the jury
to find the accused “guilty by confession” after his plea.

Judge Rafferty told the court today he
had “rarely dealt with a case that had visited such tragedy upon people who
could not be less deserving of it”.

In Hing Tong Cheung’s favour the judge
cited the guilty plea and his very good character.
