Seven cyclists named on Irish team for Paralympic Games in Tokyo

Katie George Dunlevy and Eve McCrystal go back to the Paralympics in search of more gold and spearheading a very strong Irish team

The Irish cycling team at the Paralympic Games has been named, with seven riders going to Tokyo to fly the Irish flag and bid for medals.

Included in the team are the highly decorated tandem duo
of Katie George Dunlevy and pilot Eve McCrystal.

They are the reigning Paralympic TT champions, having won
their gold medals in Rio five years ago, when they also took silver in the road
race. Aside from those results, they have been world champions five times

Eamon Byrne and Martin Gordon are bound for Tokyo to make their Paralympic debut

While Dunlevy and McCrystal will lead the charge, hopefully to the top step on the podium, they are joined by five other very strong riders whose Paralympic dream is about to be realised.

Those five are Ronan Grimes, Richael Timothy, Gary
O’Reilly and the tandem pair of Martin Gordon and Eamon Byrne; all of whom are
making their debut at the Paralympics.
