Seán Nolan is taking the step up from the domestic scene into the pro peloton with news that he has signed for EvoPro Racing.
The Irish Continental team is going into its second year having enjoyed a very strong maiden campaign in 2019 with wins through the season in Europe and New Zealand.
The team is run by former Irish road race champion and former pro Morgan Fox along with PJ Nolan, an uncle of Seán Nolan, and a well-known figure on the Irish cycling scene and former president of Cycling Ireland.
Nolan has been riding since his youth racing days with Navan Road Club and last year represented Ireland at the World Cyclocross Championships in Denmark.
He is going into his first road season at U23 level this year and his time with EvoPro Racing should assist in trying to break into the Irish U23 international road set-up.
Because of exam commitments in the early part of the season, he will not ride a full programme with EvoPro Racing until those exams are completed.
Nolan (18) is one of a number of emerging Irish riders still in the education system but intent on combining those studies with stepping up a level in the sport.
Lara Gillespie is currently riding with the Irish elite track team and will ride for UCD Cycling Club at home on the road and with Illi Bikes in Europe while also studying in UCD on the Elite Ad Astra Scholarship programme this year.
Eimear McMullan has also broken into the Irish elite cycling team while studying medicine at UCD.
