Martyn Irvine is back in action tomorrow in Germany when he races in his first-ever World-Tour race. The Aqua Blue Sport man has already completed the Tour of the Alps but tomorrow's course is more up his street.

Sam Bennett will have his final tune-up tomorrow before the Giro d’Italia which gets underway next weekend.

The Bora Hansgrohe rider is one of three Irishmen on the start-list for the Eschborn-Frankfurt 'Rund um den Finanzplatz in Germany.

Also going into battle are Martyn Irvine (Aqua Blue Sport) and Ryan Mullen (Cannondale-Drapac).

Mullen will pin on race numbers following a short break after the classics where he rode very well.

He’s part of a strong team line-up that includes Sebastien Langeveld, Patrick Bevin, Tom Van Asbroeck, Dylan Van Baarle, Tom Scully and Alberto Bettiol.

Irvine, meanwhile will be riding his first ever WorldTour race. It will be a massive ask of him, given he has just a few races to his name this season.

It’s a 215-kilometre contest tomorrow. The likelihood is that a bunch sprint will decide the outcome.

Irvine will likely be working for teammates Leigh Howard and Aaron Gate. They can both go well on a course like tomorrows.

There are 11 WorldTour teams taking part along with nine Pro-Continental outfits.

Alexander Kristoff leads the Katusha-Alpecin squad and he’s chasing his third win in-a-row in the race.

He will face strong competition from Marcel Kittel (Quick-Step Floors) and the Bora-hansgrohe duo of Sam Bennett and Peter Sagan.

John Degenkolb (Trek Segafredo is also riding, as are Andre Greipel (Lotto-Soudal) and Oliver Naesen (Ag2r La Mondiale).
