Ryan Mullen has changed team to Trek Segafredo and this is the first look at him in his new Irish champion's kit. It looks like it's a shamrock-free zone this time around for Mullen.

Irish national champion cyclist Ryan Mullen has togged out in his new Trek-Segafredo kit.

Mullen officially departed Cannondale-Drapac for his new team on the stroke of midnight. And as the Irish road race and TT champion it fell to his new team to produce Irish champion's kit for him.

He took to Instagram to share a photo of the gear this morning.

At first glance it looks like it's a shamrock-free zone for 2018. And it's clearly a lot warmer where Mullen is than for many of us on this New Year's Day.

The team has gone for a subtle look. A mainly white jersey sees a wide green band added across the chest. And the Irish colours adorn Mullen's collar and jersey cuffs.

Ryan Mullen took the Irish TT and road titles in Wexford in June. He claimed the titles with two commanding performances.

He had first claimed the elite road title in 2014 and the TT crown the following year.

Mullen has signed for Trek-Segafredo this year after 3½ years with Cannondale-Drapac. Before that he had ridden at Continental level.

He joined British team IG Sigma Sport in his first year out of the junior ranks; in 2013. And after one season there he went on to An Post-Chainreaction.

Mullen was with the Irish team for 2014 and 2015; departing midway through that second season for the WorldTour ranks.

After showing fantastic promise in TTs he claimed bronze in the elite test at the European Championships last year.

And he says the move to his new team means he will have much better TT equipment. As a result, he expects to go considerably faster against the watch and to take some big results.
