RTÉ Sport Awards Sportsperson of the Year 2017 nominees
They’ve been Irish cycling’s golden girls for the last two years and now Katie George Dunlevy and Even McCrystal are shortlisted for a major award.
The two women are world champions and Paralympic champions and have deservedly won a hatful of awards since Rio.
Most recent Dunlevy picked up an award from the UCI at its annual gala event on behalf of the dynamic duo.
And while they have also taken sports star of the month awards at home from the media outlets that run them; the annual RTE competition is the big one at home.
The Irish women are among a shortlist of 14 for RTÉ Sport Awards Sportsperson of the Year.
They’re in the mix with some very big names and the Irish cycling community is a small one in comparison to some of the other sports represented.
But if ever two women deserved an accolade like this it’s Dunlevy and McCrystal.
So please do get voting for them. You can do so by following this link. The voting section is at the bottom of the piece.
The awards ceremony will be live on RTÉ One at 9.15pm on Saturday week, December 16th.
