Routes and dates unveiled for National Road Race and TT Champs

The National Road Championships will take place in Kanturk, Co Cork, at the end of June, Cycling Ireland has confirmed. The title races - for junior, U23 and elite men and women - are being promoted this year by a group under the Cycling Munster banner.

The TT title races will take place on Thursday, June 23rd, while the junior men and women and elite women who contest their road races on Saturday, June 25th. Championship weekend will concluded on Sunday, June 26th, with the combined elite and U23 road race.

Time Trials

  • Late afternoon start time - Thursday, June 23rd: Old N7 Road between Nenagh and Birdhill. Distance 29.8km.

Road Races

  • 9.00am Saturday June 25th: Junior Women Road Race – 59km loop
  • 10.00am Saturday June 25th: Junior Men Road Race – 59km loop plus 4 x 15km laps which is a total distance of 119km
  • 2.30pm Saturday June 25th: Elite Women - 59km loop plus 3-4 x 15km laps (total distance of 104km - 119km TBC)
  • 10am Sunday June 26th: Elite Men (incorporating the U23 Men) – 103 km loop plus 4 x 15km laps which is a total distance of 163km
