Video emerges of Roglic crash, crazy conditions on Vuelta gravel roads

A lot of action from Sunday's Vuelta stage was missed when the TV images were lost. However, some video has now emerged of the conditions

Vuelta TV viewers were left frustrated towards the end of Sunday’s
stage 9 when the weather proved so bad that live images were lost.

To compound matters, the racing had hit gravel sections and the front
of the field was witnessing lots of action.

Miguel Angel Lopez (Astana) went on the attack only to crash.

And while Primoz Roglic (Jumbo Visma) was with Nairo Quintana and Alejandro Valverde of Movistar, he too came off on the gravel.

Tadej Pogačar (UAE Team Emirates) came through the chaos to take a
brilliant win.

However, while the 20-year-old really deserved the victory, nobody saw how the racing fully unfolded because the TV pictures were lost.

Rain and hail made for some very difficult race, compounded by the fact the riders were on the gravel roads.

The first clip below shows that Roglic was lucky; coming off his bike when conditions were really brutal and when their were a number of race motos close to him.

It clearly didn't take too much out of him as after Monday's rest day Roglic won the TT today and now has the race lead by a very big margin.
