Fans of Nicolas Roche will be thrilled to know he is back in the peloton this Sunday when the week-long Tour of Britain rolls out of Glasgow.

Ireland’s Nicolas Roche will make his return to racing this weekend after being named in the Team Sky line-up for the Tour of Britain.
The national road race champion has been included in the six-man line-up that also includes Ben Swift, Woet Poels, Danny Van Poppel, Elia Viviani and Ian Stannard.
Bad news for Irish fans is the omission of Philip Deignan who has raced in recent weeks.
Roche’s return is good news for him and is perhaps the silver lining to a terrible month for him where he became ill following the Olympic road race in Rio de Janeiro.
At that time he was coming into great late season form – something he’s done for much of his career.
He took a brilliant top 10 at the Clasica San Sebastien despite being overlooked for selection for the Tour de France and rode a very good race in Rio, finishing in the top 30 despite an untimely mechanical.
The illness he picked up while in Brazil was a massive blow for him, and one he was hugely disappointed with.
But he’s back on the bike since last week and finished a 12-day course of antibiotics last Friday.
He told stickybottle that watching the Vuelta on TV has "driven me nuts” but he’ll get a chance to indulge his racing appetite all next week in a race where little can be expected from him.
