Roche chances of medal at Worlds Champs take turn for better

Nicolas Roche is in with a real medal chance at the World Championships having made the Team Sky team time trial line-up for tomorrow's title race in Doha.

Nicolas Roche will ride two races at the World Road Championships in Doha in the coming week having been confirmed among Team Sky's line up for the team time trial tomorrow.

Unlike all of the other title races at the Worlds, the TTTs for men and women are contested by trade teams rather than national selections.

The TTTs have only returned to the Worlds in recent years and are the traditional curtain raiser, as they will be once again this year.

Roche is part of a very strong six-man Team Sky line-up that also includes individual time trial world champion Vasil Kiryienka, Ben Swift, Geraint Thomas, Danny Van Poppel and former world road champion Michal Kwiatkowski.

Tomorrow's TTT is 40km, with BMC going into it as the hot favourites. However, Team Sky's line-up is definitely strong enough to take a medal and perhaps even take the gold if everything went their way.
