Nicolas Roche, above, has ridden the Giro d'Italia twice before - in 2007 and 2014. And Philip Deignan has ridden it four times; 2008, 2009, 2011 and 2014.
Having already enjoyed some very strong form already this season, Philip Deignan and Nicolas Roche have been named in a Team Sky provisional line-up for next month’s Giro d’Italia.
Team Sky has not made any announcement yet about who will be in the team, with final decisions usually made much closer to the time.
However, the race organisers have published their provisional line-up for the entire field, with Team Sky obviously one the team’s due to take part.
The names in the provisional line-up resemble what the team was always expected to look like.
Absent, for example, are the likes of Chris Froome and Geraint Thomas who will instead keep their powder dry for the Tour de France.
Mikel Landa, currently leading the Giro del Trentino after his stage 2 win yesterday, is named as leader of the team in the provisional line-up published by the Giro.
And the Spanish rider was always earmarked to lead Team Sky at the race.
With Landa, Roche and Deignan also named are Ian Boswell, Sebastian Henao Gomez, Sergio Luis Henao Montoya, Christian Knees, David Lopez Garcia and Elia Viviani.
One name on the provisional list but who will most likely not ride the race is Sergio Henao as he has been withdrawn from racing as fresh questions have been asked about his blood profile.
Only time will tell if there are other changes and the Irish riders compete in the race.
Deignan's name on the list is perhaps not surprising and having ridden well of late despite a bad training crash late last year his competing at the Giro would not be unexpected.
It would, however, create doubt around whether he would finally get a ride at the Tour de France, as riders who race the Giro are usually more likely to ride the Vuelta later in the season rather than the Tour de France.
And with that in mind, Roche's inclusion in the Giro team may mean he does not ride the Tour, though that would be a surprise.
He has only ever once ridden both the Giro and Tour in the same season; 2014 when the Giro started in Ireland. However, both Richie Porte and Leopold König rode the Giro with Team Sky last year and went on to ride the Tour in July.
