There are places for over 11,000 riders in the Ring of Kerry Sportive but still huge numbers can’t get an entry, such is the demand. Now there are 500 extra slots on offer so get cracking.
One of the country’s most popular charity cycles, the Ring of Kerry Sportive, has announced details of a ‘lottery system’ that will grant entry to 500 applicants who were previously told the event had sold out and they had missed the initial registration.
The application process closes at 6pm (Irish time) today. Friday, April 24th, 2015.
And the draw will take place on Tuesday, May 5th, after which the successful applicants will be notified by email by Friday May 8th.
The successful applicants, from the thousands who still want to ride the 11,000-rider event, will be selected at random and not by first come, first served.
So getting your applications in now at the last minute is no disadvantage.
Only one entry is allowed per person.
Those who are unsuccessful in securing an entry will be prevented from taking part in the event on the day; Saturday July 4th.
Last year over 11,000 people took part in the 180km cycle, raising vital funds for local Kerry charities.
