Mark Dowling wins his third Eddie Tobin Memorial and he did it in some style; going long on his own (Photo: Liam Ruth)
Having had a quieter than usual early part of the season Mark Dowling has taken a big win.
He was best in the main event at the Eddie Tobin Memorial promoted by Slaney CC.
Dowling had already won the race twice during his career. And he made it a hat trick with a 30km solo escape.
At the finish he was well clear of the next man home; Conn McDunphy of Holdsworth Pro Cycling the runner-up today.
Matt McCullagh put in a great ride in claiming 3rd for Sundrive Track Team. And another two men who have been going well of late rounded out the top five.
Eoin Byrne of Scott-Orwell was 4th and Cian Kehoe of Sports Room Racing claimed 5th.
In the A3 race Mark Smith (Sports Room) won from Liam Curley (NRPT-Chill Insurance) and Fergal Regan (Murphy Surveys Kilcullen).
The A4 contest went to Anthony Mulholland of Scott Orwell. Niall Hogan (Comeragh CC) and Craig Stevenson (Murphy Surveys Kilcullen) filled 2nd and 3rd places.
We’ll have more with Mark Dowling later.
