Rás Tailteann 2022 | Start list for Ireland's biggest stage race

Irish riders break through on Rás and home hero Teggart wins

Rás Tailteann is set to begin next Wednesday, with five stages of racing in store before the event winds to a close in Blackrock, Co Louth, next Sunday week. The event was not held last year or in 2020 due pandemic restrictions and also did not go ahead in 2019 due to lack of sponsorship.

The Cáirde Rás Tailteann group organising this year’s race has put in place a group of co-sponsors so the event can be run. It is hoped the 2022 return edition - which is three stages shorter than normal and is not UCI-ranked - can be the start of a process that restores the race after a difficult few years.

While there are two UCI Continental teams in the race - EvoPro Racing and Trinity Racing - as well as elite teams from the UK, US and the Netherlands, the race is refocused on Irish riders this year. In previous editions, a much larger proportion of the field was made up of Continental teams and national line-ups.
