Having taken the best result of his career during the An Post Rás in Ireland last month when he won a stage, James Gullen has now put in a huge ride the time trial (TT) championships in Britain.
The 26-year-old Pedal Heaven rider has taken a fantastic silver medal, with only WorldTour pro Alex Dowsett going faster.
The Movistar man was taking his fifth elite title against the watch and went around the 28.8 mile course in 55:38, with Gullen of Pedal Heaven 2nd at 1:16.
Gullen claimed the biggest win of his career last month with a stunning late attack to win stage 3 of the Rás into Dingle.
The Pedal Heaven rider (26) joined a group of eight on the descent of the Connor Pass into the Kerry town and after gathering himself at the back of the group he launched an audacious late attack which took the others by surprise.
