Rás yellow jersey Lukas Postlberger took a while to be checked over by the medical team at the An Post Rás today but when he emerged from the ambulance he did so smiling.

The 23 year-old Austrian admitted he took a hard bang early on today's penultimate stage from Ballinamore to Drogheda.

When he went down and though he required a bike change and some attention from the race doctor he was not badly hurt and is confident of holding the jersey tomorrow.

And while word went around the race he had fractured his collar bone, he was having none of it.

“I’m in good condition, the shape is great, I have a little pain but it’s okay,” he told reporters afterwards.

“The doctor checked me and nothing is broken. Everything is fine, one more day to go, I’m focused so nobody could take the yellow jersey from me.”

Of the crash he recalled little, only that it happened quickly.

“Yes, in the first part after the crash you’re feeling a little dizzy and not knowing what’s happened.
