New junior rider Aliyah Rafferty and 4th in the Worlds junior TT last month, Lucy Benezet Minns, are both set to ride of the same UK-based junior trade team next season. And while both will be likely be on international duty with Ireland in 2024, they will also get plenty of opportunities with their trade team.
Rafferty has been a top U16 rider for the last couple of seasons - representing Ireland at the European Youth Olympics and winning a stage at the senior Newry Three Day. She has already raced as a junior in recent weeks, winning her first race - against the elites - in the opening round of the National Series in Falls Park.
Benezet Minns won the road and TT title at the National Road Championships this year and then went onto the Worlds, taking an international breakthrough result with 4th in the junior women's TT.
Next season both riders will be competing with Tofauti Everyone Active, a junior development team with squads for male and female riders. Irish junior rider Liam O'Brien guested with the team this season, taking 4th in Sint Martinusprijs Kontich (2.1) in Belgium while Benezet Minns also raced for the team this season; in the Netherlands, France, Belgium and Spain.
The team announced the new signing of Rafferty and the re-signing of Benezet Minns today. The Irish duo were among 18 riders announced by the team today.
