The Qhubeka ASSOS team car was in a very poor state after the crash during yesterday's stage 5 at Giro d'Italia

While three riders were forced out of the Giro d'Italia after yesterday's stage 5 crash with just over 4km to go to the finish, there were also some issues in the cavalcade following the race.

At times all of the vehicles are forced to stop, depending on what's happening ahead. And anyone driving in the cavalcade of any race really needs to have their wits about them.

Yesterday the Qhubeka ASSOS team car was badly damaged with it rear-ended the Team DSM team car, with the incident captured on video (below) by a fan on the roadside.

The Qhubeka ASSOS car hit the Team DSM vehicle with some force and when photos emerged of the car after the stage, the front of it was badly damaged. The roof rack carrying the spare bikes had been shunted forward and down onto the windscreen.
