Provisional start lists for A3 and A4 races at this weekend's "Friends First Laragh Classic"

St Tiernan's Cycling Club has released the provisional start lists for the A3 and A4 races at the inaugural Friends First Larragh Classic this coming Sunday, September 15th.

Weaving through the heart of Co Wicklow, the dramatic 24k circuit presents riders with challenging climbs, tough drags and a fast-paced descent through the village of Laragh. The technical and demanding surfaces on sections of the course promise to give competitors a real test of skill and an authentic taste of European style Classic racing.

In addition, the finish, situated just before the T-junction that brings you onto the R763 between Annamoe and Ashford follows a demanding drag which will have the potential to split the fields on the day.

The main event is being sponsored by Friends First with www.fitzcycles.ie sponsoring the A4 race.

Said Friends First chief executive Tom Browne: "Friends First is delighted to be supporting the inaugural Laragh Classic and together with St Tiernan's we hope this become a fixture in the Irish cycling calendar. As a leading life and health insurer we are pleased to be supporting the continued development of cycling in Ireland as a recreational and competitive sport."

Paul Fitzsimons of www.fitzcycles.com said he was delighted to be involved with a long established club such as south Dublin's St Tiernan's.

"We're sure the Laragh Classic will be a exciting addition to the Irish racing calendar for many years to come. We're looking forward to some exciting racing on the day."
