While there are more Irish cyclists than ever currently with professional cycling teams, and riding at UCI Continental level, other young Irish riders will be looking to make the same move over the next year.
And Tudor Pro Cycling, the Swiss ProConti team, has effectively presented itself as an option as it has launched an open recruitment process.
It's a chance for young riders to throw their names into the ring, rather than depending on contacts and agents, which not everyone has.
Tudor Pro Cycling was founded and is owned by former Swiss pro rider Fabian Cancellara. He won both Paris Roubaix and Tour of Flanders three times, was a four-time world champion and was twice Olympic champion.
The team effectively started as the Swiss Racing Academy - a club outfit - back in 2018 before stepping up to UCI Continental level the following year. It morphed into its current form, Tudor Pro Cycling, in 2022.
It has been a ProConti team since 2023 and currently on its roster are riders like Julian Alaphilippe, Marc Hirschi, Stefan Küng, Larry Warbasse, Michael Storer, Matteo Trentin and Stefan Küng, to name but a few.
Crucially, it also has an U23 development team - Tudor Pro Cycling Team U23, riding as a UCI Continental squad - with 16 riders, including some from English-speaking countries.
Tudor Pro Cycling has launched its open 'scouting' process saying it wants to find "promising young riders" who believe they "have what it takes" to join its ranks.
It has published an online application form, which you can find at this link.
In that application form you are asked to supply some current performance data as well as contacts for a coach or manager, if you have one.
There are also questions asking you to explain your background and your cycling-related motivations as well as slots where you can share your Training Peaks and recent test results.
It's a good opportunity to get yourself onto the radar of a pro team and you'd never know where it may lead.
