These are definitely the photos of the day from the pro cycling game, and they were not taken at the Rio Olympics.
They say you can't turn a donkey into a top race, but what do they know? This one seems to be doing OK!
On today's stage 5 of the Vuelta a Burgos (2.HC) a donkey was lose on the road and rang alongside the riders.
And after its cameo during the 163km from Caleruega to Lagunas de Neila, the animal has become a bit of a star on Twitter!
The stage, incidentally, was won by Sergio Pardilla (Caja Rural - Seguros RGA) while Alberto Contador (Saxo) put in a terrific attacking ride to finish 2nd just 17 seconds down.
That was enough to give Contador the title for 2016 from Ben Hermans (BMC) by just one second, with Pardilla in 3rd overall on the same time, just coming up short for the outright race lead.

They always told us Doping can't make race horse out of donkey. Boy were they wrong. pic.twitter.com/8FlScD50X1

He looks happy enough
Never has a donkey looked this happy to be part of a bike race. Bruseghin would be proud. (Photo: Nuno Veiga - EFE) pic.twitter.com/72qGhx1aAj
