Sam Bennett (Deceuninck-QuickStep) has won more prize money for his team than
any other rider on the Tour de France except double stage winner Tadej
Pogačar (UAE-Team Emirates)

Bennett has won €31,700 while Pogačar
already has €35,220 in the bag, more than any other rider in the race.

Irish cyclist Bennett (29) has won money in a number of ways; placings on stages including a stage win, intermediate sprints and by simply holding the green jersey each day, which he has done for more than half of the race so far.

Pogacar is 2nd overall, has won two stages and also leads the young rider classification; all adding up to his prize money total, the biggest of any rider on the race so far

Each stage win is
worth €11,000, 2nd is worth €5,500, 3rd gets €2,800, 4th receives €1,500, 5th
gets €830 and 6th gets €780, down to €300 for 15th to 20th places on every
stage.

The intermediate
sprints that Bennett has been targeting also carry prize money, but only for
the first three riders at each sprint; €1,500 for an intermediate sprint win,
€1,000 for 2nd and €500 for 3rd.

Bennett has also
received a cash prize for simply wearing the green jersey on each stage,
collecting €300 for every day he is in green.

If he wins the
green jersey, as now seems likely, there is €25,000 for victory in the
classification, some €15,000 for 2nd and €10,000 to 3rd, all the way down to
€2,000 for 8th in the classification.
