Primož Roglič (Red Bull-Bora-hansgrohe) has crashed again at the Giro d'Italia, this time coming off his bike on a corner during a recon ride of today's stage 10 TT course to Pisa.

The Slovenian, who crashed and punctured on the gravel stage to Siena on Sunday, was wearing bandages on his left leg from that first crash when he came off his bike today on wet roads while checking out the TT course.

He was being followed by his team car at the time, with staff quickly getting out and running to his aid. Roglič was soon back on his bike and rode away again.

However, his latest crash will do little to lift his confidence for his TT ride today, when he needs to gain back time on his rivals over the 28.6km race against the clock from Lucca to Pisa.

After suffering his problems on Sunday's stage, Roglič found himself in a chasing group behind the main favourites and was locked into a damage limitation pursuit all the way to the finish.

By the end of the stage he had lost between one minute and 2:25 to the men expected to challenge him in the race for the maglia rosa. He is now 10th overall, some 2:25 down on race leader Isaac del Torro (UAE Team Emirates-XRG), the 21-year-old Mexican tipped by many to mount a serious challenge in the general classification.
