Photos of Philip Lavery at ‘Node 4 Giordana’ Spanish training camp

With an illness-hit year in 2011 behind him, Dubliner Philip Lavery has moved from An Post-Sean Kelly to new UK team ‘Node 4 Giordana’ for the coming season.

The 22-year-old will race mostly in Britain this year but will also take in one-day and stage races in Spain and France.

He recently told stickybottle that while he’s looking forward to an assault of the British Premier Calendar series, he is also relishing riding the An Post Ras and races like the Tour of Britain; all events that should suit his aggressive style.

He also has the Tour of Norway to look forward to as well as the U23 Nations Cup events, in what will be his final year as an U23 rider.

The Staffordshire-based squad is effectively a rebranded version of the well-known ‘Motorpoint Pro Cycling’ team. Headed by Phil Griffiths, the team counts the evergreen sprinter Malcolm Elliott among its ranks.

They’re currently at a training camp in Lanzarote from where they’ve sent us these photos.
