That was close (Photo: Seamus Shortall)
In this photo Mark S Pedersen, from Denmark’s Blue Water Cycling team, pips Polish rider Marcin Bialoblocki (NODE4 Giordana) on stage four of the An Post Ras into Bundoran today, Wednesday.
Bialoblocki won the opening stage of this race on Sunday and took the first yellow jersey. As you can see from this photo, he went very, very close to making it two stage wins today. But timing is everything and Pedersen had that right as well as the firepower after a very fast stage to take a really good win.
The two riders’ sprint was so fast they put two seconds into everyone else in the group – according to the provisional results.
This absolute first class quality photo comes courtesy of the An Post Ras’s technical/computer/results wizard Seamus Shortall. The Dubliner has been to the forefront in developing rapid results systems that have seen him in demand at UCI ranked races all over the world for many years.
Great photo.
