Philip Lavery has always been a classy rider and though he didn't race much at home this year he still bagged a couple of wins, such as the Bobby Power Memorial St Patrick's Day race in Carrick, above, and the Seamus Kennedy Memorial in Meath (Photo: Sean Rowe)

Philip Lavery will race for French team AC Bisontine in 2017 in what will be his second stint with the outfit after an initial spell three years ago.
The Dubliner will be one of four Irishmen in the team next year and will race alongside compatriots Ryan Reilly, James Curry and Cameron McIntyre.
The other team members will be a mix from other parts of Europe, though the majority of the 14-man roster is French.
Lavery previously rode for the team in 2013 and took a number of very impressive wins. So impressive was he that he secured a stagiaire with Cofidis.
It was thought he would sign a pro contract with the team for 2014, but it ultimately didn’t turn WorldTour and thus had fewer slots available to new riders.
The collapse of a number of other pro teams and promised teams also saw a lot of out of contract established pros on the market, which worked against the Dubliner.
Next year he will be in the AC Bisontine team as one of their protected riders in races and at 26 years old he still has plenty to offer.
He’s currently training in Calpe, Spain, and will travel to South Africa in the New Year where he plans to fine-tune his form with more training and racing.
He will also guest ride for the Storck Development Team in the UCI-ranked Tour of the Gila in April (19-23).
The kit Lavery and the rest of the Irish riders will wear at AC Bisontine next season.
