Team Sky has unveiled its Tour of Britain line-up and there is no place for Irish rider Philip Deignan in it.

Having been overlooked for the Vuelta, there is also no place for Philip Deignan in the Team Sky line-up at the Tour of Britain.
The race begins this weekend and the Irishman was not part of Team Sky’s line-up when it was announced earlier today.

His omission will come as a disappointed to Irish cycling fans. The race gets underway in Edinburgh on Sunday.
Geraint Thomas, who crashed out of the Tour de France having won the opening stage, is in the Tour of Britain team.
Fellow Welshman and Rio Olympic gold medal winner Owain Doull is also in the team.
Also picked are Michal Kwiatkowski, Vasil Kiryienka, Elia Viviani and Tao Geoghegan.

Geraint Thomas, who crashed out of both the Tour and Giro this year, said he was looking forward to getting back into action.
“The support from the British fans is always fantastic and it’s going to be great to race at home,” he said.
“We’ve got a strong squad coming and I’m really looking forward to it.
“Coming back to Cardiff is going to be special. And it’s something the Welsh guys have been talking about since the route was announced. I’m sure the fans will do us proud.”
