One of the most popular figures in pro cycling, Peter Sagan, has shrugged off his recent brush with the law and signed a new 10-year deal with clothing company Sportful.
The decade long arrangement is unprecedented in cycling and will bring Sagan up to the end of his career and beyond as he will be into his 40s by the time it expires.
However, give Sagan's marketability and his popularity, it comes as no surprise he will continue to get paid for his image long after he had hung up his racing wheel; his recent run-in with the police in Monaco doing nothing to dent his appeal.
The 31-year-old Slovak has a long relationship with Sportful; the Italian company having launched a range of Sagan clothing with the three-time world champion.
Sportful will also provide clothing to the TotalEnergies team, which Sagan is joining next year after his term with Bora-hansgrohe comes to an end.
Sagan says he has a special relationship with Sportful owner Dario Cremonese and his family and was delighted his association with the company - which makes skiing and cycling kit - would continue for at least another 10 years.
"I am very happy and proud to continue to be part of the Sportful family. The relationship that has been established in recent years with the Cremonese family and, in particular, with Dario and Alessio, goes beyond sport and sporting results and represents something special and unique," Sagan said.
"The company has always shown that it believes in me and I can only be happy and grateful. I am sure that in the next 10 years we will have even more fun than we have already done together."
