Peter Sagan's movement in the final sprint on stage 11 of the Tour de France today is captured perfectly by this overhead footage, below.
It shows exactly what the Bora-hansgrohe rider has lost his 2nd place on the stage and been relegated to the back of the group.
The stage was won by Caleb Ewan (Lotto-Soudal), with Sagan next and then Sam Bennett (Deceuninck-QuickStep) in 3rd, with Wout van Aert (Jumbo Visma) in 4th place.
However, Sagan barged van Aert quite aggressively in the sprint finish and though he crossed the line in 2nd place he has now been relegated to the back of the group.
The re-arranging of the result moves Bennett up to 2nd and van Aert to 3rd and it means Bennett has now gained a huge amount of points on Sagan in the fight for the green jersey.
Rather than Sagan gaining 30 points for 2nd place today and Bennett gaining 20 points for 3rd, Sagan has now scored no points and Bennett has taken 30; a huge event in the green jersey classification.
Bennett has ended the stage with 243 points and Sagan has 175, which means the Irish rider is now in a brilliant position to take the green jersey all the way to Paris next Sunday week.
