Paddy Power just offered us odds on range of Roche & Deignan Giro bets

With Nicolas Roche and Philip Deignan both having won Grand Tour stages - at the Vuelta – in the past it would not be unusual to see them taking a stage win at the Giro d'Italia.

They'll be working for Mikel Landa - Team Sky's leader – and that will restrict them greatly, of course.

But if he were to lose big time or Roche or Deignan were sent up the road to mark a breakaway or to be clear to help Landa on a particular climb, they could find themselves in a stage-winning move.

Bookmaker Paddy Power has issued odds on the likelihood of Roche or Deignan winning the race outright.

And they will also offer odds daily on the Irish duo's chance of winning the following day’s stage. Those odds will only be set daily as the race progresses. They are not available for every stage right now.

Paddy Power rates Roche's chances of winning overall at 400/1 and Deignan is at 500/1.

And so far the Irishmen have been between 250 and 400 to 1 to win any of the opening stages.

But aside from those bets on offer on Paddy Power's website, stickybottle got in contact with the bookmaker to see the odds it would offer on a variety of possible scenarios involving the two Irishmen.

The stand-out one for us is 66/1 on both riders winning a stage in the race. It probably won't happen, but it might.

And if the team stopped riding for Landa for any reason, you would have to fancy the Irish pair to take a stage.

Have a look at the betting below and let us know what you think.

Just to say, stickybottle has no commercial relationship whatever with Paddy Power. This piece is intended as a novelty item, not to encourage gambling.
