Waller Cup, Bohermeen
Bohermeen’s Waller Cup in Co Meath tomorrow sees the welcome return of underage races being laid on and also the first round of the ‘Stickybottle.com National Women’s League’, as well as the usual programme of racing for senior and junior men.
Always a popular date on the calendar, the 16km circuit is mostly flat albeit with some drags and always lends itself to attacking and fast racing.

Sign on will be at Sean Newman Park.
There will be five separate senior races, with prizes for first eight over the line in all races for a total price fund of €2,200. There are also three underage races – U12, U14 and U16.

McCann Cup – Omagh Wheelers
Omagh Wheelers are running no fewer than five races as part of its McCann Cup programme, the tenth anniversary of the event. Race HQ and sign-on is at the Halfway House on the Tattyreagh road between Omagh and Fintona; open from 10am.
The starting times for the races are over a period of a number of hours, from 11am to 1pm.
The first two races are the latest rounds of the ‘Time Square Jewelers Gold Cup Masters’, and ‘SportActive Women’s Series’; these will effectively be separate races from the other three events slightly later in the day.
Sign-on will be at 10am with both the women’s and master’s races starting at 11am. Both races will cover three laps of the 9.5mile course.
There were still places available in both races in recent days despite the pre-entry online sign on system so check www.omaghwheelers.com to pre sign on today.
When those two early races are done and dusted, the next event underway will be the combined event for A1/A2 riders. It starts at 1pm and will be seven laps for a race distance of 67 miles.
While pre entry online is encouraged, there were still places left in the A1/A2 race in recent days and entries will be accepted at race HQ on the day as long as spaces are still available.
Shortly after the A1/A2 riders get underway, the A3 race starts and will be over six laps of the same course for a race distance of 57 miles.
And followed quickly after that, at around 1:10pm, the separate A4 race gets underway; four laps for a 36 miles race distance.
Both the A3 race and the A4 race were over subscribed during the week. A waiting list exists and riders who are on that should check their email to see if they have been successful in being included into either of those two races.
Omagh Wheelers have managed to increase the total prize fund for this year’s races to £1,000 thanks to the support of sponsors Hugh McCann Building & Maintenance Contractor.
