This overhead footage of Sam Bennett's winning sprint in Belgium today demonstrates perfectly why he's the most feared sprinted in pro cycling right now.

In the past riders like Marcel Kittel, Erik Zabel, Mario Cippolini and Robbie McEwan, among others, were the dominant sprinters of their day - and were unbeatable at times.

And Bennett's winning sprint at Oxyclean Classic Brugge-De Panne today is one of those moments the sport will look back on and point to as example of the Irishman's dominance at present.

Much has been made of the excellent lead-out provided by his Deceuninck-QuickStep team, especially his final man Michael Mørkøv, who once again dropped Bennett off the front today at the precise moment.

But while the lead-out is clearly the best in the sport at the moment, Bennett's sprint today was absolutely savage; the overhead footage below showing him winning at a canter and powering away, with every pedal stroke, from Pascal Ackermann (Bora-hansgrohe) and Jasper Philipsen (Alpecin-Fenix).

Bennett has now taken five wins this year, all of them at WorldTour level and today's victory was the first time he had won a one-day WorldTour race. But it was the manner of his win - and sheer brute force of his winning kick - that was so impressive after 204km of racing.
