Orwell Two Day: Paul Forristal has a tidy list of wins under his belt, including last years Orwell Two Day. He returns to see if he can do it again (Photo: Sean Rowe)
Won by a member of promoting club Scott
Orwell Wheelers last year, the Orwell Two Day is set to unfold on the roads of
south Wicklow this weekend.
Paul Forristal, who has been in some
strong form of late, is the reigning champion and is in the field this time
around.
A total of 80 riders have signed on for
the south Dublin club’s event. It involves a split stage tomorrow, Saturday,
followed by a concluding road stage on Sunday.
Tomorrow’s opening TT is 11km, with the
first ride off at 10am just outside Wicklow Town.
Saturday’s stage 2 is a late afternoon
circuit race; starting at 4pm and taking in 10 laps of an 8km circuit.
The race concludes on Sunday stage 3,
which takes in four laps of a lumpy 27km course starting at 9am from the
Beehive Pub on the N11 outside Wicklow Town.
