Organisers warn Rás Mumhan entry to close earlier than normal

The organisers of the Kerry Group Rás Mumhan four-day international stage race over the Easter weekend have warned those interested in riding the event to get their applications in as soon as possible.

The closing date is Friday, February 13th; earlier than usual, as the race commences 10 weeks tomorrow.

There will be a similarly-sized peloton this year, with around 200 riders due to take part in the event from April 3rd to 6th.

Allocation has been made for 27 teams of six riders, though some clubs and teams will be entering more than one team.

There will also be upwards of seven visiting teams from abroad.

Priority for starting places will be given to cycling clubs registered in Ireland, regional and local selections of Cycling Ireland members and composite teams made up of Cycling Ireland members or riders affiliated to this country.

Teams from abroad will also be given some allocation, particularly those who have had a history with the race.

The list of entries accepted through this round will be posted on www.rasmumhan.com on Friday. 20th February.

The race is open to anyone from A3 category up to A+ and for a team of six the entry fee is €420.

To enter, send the appropriate remittance, payable to Killorglin Cycling Club and addressed to Mary Concannon, Carhoonahone, Beaufort, Co. Kerry.
