Dan Morrissey-MIG-Pactimo is looking for new riders for next season and is throwing open its recruitment process.
The team has been on the go for over a decade in various
guises, with former international rider Timmy Barry at the helm.
It has won the majority of the major races on the
domestic scene and this year counted riders like Conor Hennebry, Sean Hahessy,
Ronan McLaughlin and Sean McKenna it its ranks.
Down the years Seán
Lacey, Barry and Matteo Cigala
have also proven very prolific in the team’s colours.
The squad has developed a reputation for helping riders
progress in their careers as well as winning regularly as a unit.
For next year it is seeking male and female U23 riders who have a proven track record, an ability to fit into the team and a desire to progress.

“The team is seeking not only talented riders but more
importantly riders with a positive and friendly attitude coupled with a strong
work ethic and desire to further their cycling careers,” it said.
“We want riders with a passion for the sport and a
willingness to learn from experienced riders and management.
“The team aim is to provide a platform for young riders
to develop their race craft and skills as they develop into the next generation
of international athletes.”
It added the team would help the new riders learn the skills and race tactics required to be among Ireland’s next group of international athletes.
“You will also learn the ability to effectively handle different racing conditions and environments, off-the-bike skills in recovery and pre-race preparation.
“And crucially you will have the freedom to grow in thanks to our strong team ethic and an ‘everyone equal’ culture.”
Interested riders are being asked to submit a CV and cover
letter before 5pm on October 31st to [email protected].
Candidates must have been born between 1998 and 2001, be living in Ireland and have held a Cycling Ireland licence in 2019 or be eligible to hold one next year.
Dan Morrissey-MIG-Pactimo has also set out the factors it
will be reviewing, in no particular order.
These include race results and performances, bike
handling and bunch riding skills, previous relationships with teams and sponsors,
understanding of the importance of sponsor relationships and return in
investment, tactical awareness, ability to work within a team, physical
capacity, attitude and aptitude, self discipline, manners and respect for
management, other riders and sponsors.
After the deadline for applications expires team management
will draw up a short list of riders.
All applicants, successful and unsuccessful, will be contacted by November 15th. Successful riders may be asked to attend an assessment day or weekend in late November or early December.
And all team riders must attend a pre-season training weekend in February.
