One of Bradley Wiggins' early bikes is up for sale online

An online auction offers the opportunity to buy this early bike built for Bradley Wiggins. And while it was used it looks to be in mint condition.

An early training bike built for Britain’s first Tour de France winner Bradley Wiggins is up for sale online.

Built by Terry Dolan and dated no more specifically than “the 2000s”, the bike is being offered for sale on auction site Ebay.

At the time of writing bids had reached £530, or about €680; with three bids having been placed so far.

The auction closes this Sunday, February 21st.

Terry Dolan says most of the parts are original and in full working order, though it expected the bike to be bought as a piece of history for “ornamental display”.

“The bike is in full working order but please bear in mind it is a used item, therefore will not be showroom standard,” the advert says.

“It has obviously been built and maintained by some of the best mechanics in the country but is sold as a collectors’ item, not a race bike.”

In the online advert Terry Dolan outlines the following specifications:

  • Dolan carbon TT frameset (would suit riders approximately 6') with "Bradley Wiggins" name decals
  • Alpina carbon Wing TT forks
  • Shimano Ultegra FC-6601 chainset with 175mm crankarms
  • Shimano Dura Ace front and rear derailleurs
  • Dura Ace TT 10 speed shifters
  • Shimano Dura Ace calipers
  • Bontrager HCM carbon front wheel (16 spoke) with carbon rear disc and Vittoria Corsa Evo CX23 tubular tyres
  • Profile Design carbon TT bars (with brand new pads and risers fitted) and Bradley's original white bar tape still fitted
  • Profile Design QS2 (Quick Stop 2) TT brake levers
  • Selle Italia seatpost and alloy seatpost (not originally fitted, originals not available)
