Nicolas Roche has suffered a very heavy crash on stage 10 of the Tour de France and looked quite distressed after the fall.
It occurred in the bunch with just under 100km remaining on today's stage, with a large group of riders either crashing in the road or flying into the adjacent fields.
Roche (Team Sunweb) seemed to be on the bottom of a pile of riders, with others falling on top of him. The Irish cyclist and Sam Bewley (Mitchelton-Scott) appeared to take the brunt of the crash.
Bewley, who was making his debut in the Tour, has sadly been forced out of the race on the 168.5km stage to île de Ré.
The Kiwi rider and Roche were in the front section of the peloton as it was splitting in crosswinds when the crash occurred.
However, while Bewley was forced out, Roche's team said he had gotten back on his bike and was in the cars behind the race at the time of writing.
