Nicolas Roche and Dan Martin back in action in France this weekend

Nicolas Roche has been named by Team DSM for the Bretagne Classic in France this weekend while Dan Martin is also on the start list for his Israel Start-Up Nation team.

It will be Roche’s first outing since he completed Tour
de Pologne almost two weeks ago while Martin hasn’t raced since the Olympic
Games road race just over a month ago.

Roche will be on team duties, for team leader Nils Eekhoff, while Martin will look to test his form after being absent from the peloton for several weeks.

Martin rode very well in the Giro, claiming a top 10 and arguably
the best stage win of the race. And while he did not quite hit the same heights
in the Tour de France, he was clearly coming good towards the end of the race.

Phil West, coach at Roche’s Team DSM, said the team was looking forward to this Sunday’s race in France.

"With a tough classics style parcours over 251 kilometres of Bretagne roads we anticipate a race of attrition and one where the finish will be contested by a reduced peloton or perhaps an even smaller group,” he said.

“We come to the race with a strong line up and will race positively, using our strength to come into the final with as many riders as possible in support of our finisher for the race Nils. We’ve had some really good team performances in recent weeks and we look to continue that here."
