Sam Bennett has been the wheelie king of the pro peloton in recent years; banging out wins in the sprints and then entertaining the crowds in the following days with wheelies on the climbs.

But the Deceuninck-QuickStep sprinter is absent from this year's Tour, due to injury, and that means he's missed an informal wheelie competition which took place on Sunday's stage 15 to Andorra.

Dutch social media personality, and former An Post-Chainreaction rider, Bas Tietema has been following the race shooting videos for his channels. And his effort last Sunday involved painting a wheelie start line on the final climb and encouraging the passing riders - via the PA system Tietema had set up - to pull the longest wheelie possible.

A surprising number of the pro riders responded with wheelie efforts, though some of them were not great. However, Max Walscheid of Qhubeka NextHash absolutely knocked it out of the park with an effort measured at 178m up the Col de Beixalis.

You can view that effort in the clip below and the full wheelie competition is in the second clip.
