New summer criterium series for Ireland seeks to replicate success of UK Tour Series

An exciting summer of criterium races has been unveiled in the west of Ireland with all categories of rider catered for.

The series – which seeks to emulate something of the buzz created by the Tour Series in the UK – gets underway on Friday in Claremorris, Co Mayo and concludes in Tuam on Sunday, July 27th.

In all, there will be five criterium races and points gained in each round will count towards the overall placings.

There will be two categories within the series.

Elite 1 comprises A1 and A2 riders, while the Elite 2 category will cater for A3 and A4 riders. Junior and female riders are also allowed enter.

The series of races, and details of each can be found as follows:

Friday, June 13th: Claremorris Crit. Organised by Western Lakes CC. See the Western Lakes website of details.
