Young is a huge talent and rode for the Irish national team at the UCI World Junior Road Race Championships in Doha this year, competing in both the road and the time-trial.

Powerhouse Sport will supply the team’s race and casual kit while they will ride the super-slick Parlee Altum frame next season.

Peter Ward will serve as the team’s DS with Sean McGreevy (Velo Cafe Magasin) and Garth Young (Powerhouse Sport) as team principals.

Xeno Young is the team's marquee rider and he will have plenty support from those around him in the team as he chases some big results on both the road and the track in 2017.

Of the riders, Young this year broke the national 10-mile TT record at just 16 years of age.

It was a record previously held by Mark Downey, now a double European Track Championships medal winner and UCI World Cup victor.

And the rest of the team members have also shown great promise, meaning Powerhouse Sport look like a force to be reckoned with.

Adam Ward was a member of the Talent Team 2020; the Irish international team for youth riders this year. He won a race in Belgium and is Irish U16 criterium champion.

And PJ Doogan was also in the Talent Team 2020, riding very well in Belgium and taking the hotspots sprints competition in the same race Ward won.

Doogan took silver in the U16 criterium at the national championships this year.

Liam Wilson rode very well this year as a junior; a mark of his potential was his 3rd place against an international field on the final day of the Junior Tour of Ireland.

It was an excellent result riding for Ulster after a hard week and bodes well.

Breandan Flannagan has also fared very well this year – both on the road and in cyclocross.

His 3rd place in the TT at the national championships was a clear signal of his ability.

As well as the best bikes and kit, the team have other partners, including Salice Ochialli providing helmets and glasses.

The riders will wear the new Levante helmet with their own choice of glasses from the Salice range, as well as using customised Kit Brix kit bags, Fizik shoes and Tufo tyres.

The team still has a number of opportunities for more partners who may be able to contribute to the development of the team over the coming season.

The Powerhouse Sport team will be as good if not better equipped than any other junior team in the country in 2017.
