The growing ranks of Ireland’s youth riders will gather in Co Wexford next August to fight for the national youth titles after Slaney CC confirmed it had won the race to promote the National Youth Championships in the season ahead.

The racing will take place over the weekend of August 24th and 25th in Enniscorthy, with Cycling Ireland having just confirmed the venue.

The south east club has been planning for the event for some time and submitted its application to hold the championships as far back as July.

The championships consist of a road race, time trial and criterium held over two days for U11, U12, U13, U14, U15 and U16 boys and girls.

The championships attract entries from the 32 counties and Slaney CC tell us they’re looking forward to having a huge influx of youth riders into Enniscorthy for what promises to be a fantastic weekend of racing.

News that the youth titles will be decided in Wexford in August comes just weeks after it emerged Cuchulainn CC in Co Louth is to host the senior championships next year. The elite men and women will battle it out for the road race and TT titles in Carlingford in June, with the vets road race also down for decision as part of the same programme.
