Ryan Mullen will partner his Cannondale-Drapac teammate Paddy Bevin for rounds 2 and 3 of the UK Revolution Series in Manchester and London.
The former national road and time-trial champion of Ireland will link up with the Kiwi rider for the contests that take place on November 25th-26th and December 2nd-3rd, respectively.
It’s a formidable partnership and though they haven’t raced a huge amount together, they both carry huge track pedigree.
The Revolution Series has received significant media attention due to the exciting nature of the racing and the galaxy of stars that have come to race over the last number of weeks in the UK.
However, the creation of a new Champions League competition which sits above the UK Championship has attracted even more media.
The UK Championship is currently being run off and features pro teams such as JLT Condor and Team Wiggins.
Should they advance, they will race to qualify for the Champions League where they will race against World Tour teams, like Cannondale-Drapac.
The Champions League will take place across three consecutive weekends - two this month and another next month - and each weekend will host two days of racing.
There will be 12 elite teams in the Champions League made up of 5 qualifiers and 7 WorldTour teams.
Aside from Cannondale-Drapac, the other World Tour teams are Team Sky, Giant Alpecin, Lampre-Merida, Trek-Segafredo, Orica-BikeExchange and Team Lotto-JumboNL.
The format is very straight-forward; teams select two riders for each round, aiming to score as many points as they can in the five Elite Championship races at every round: the Flying Lap, Elimination Race, Points Race, Madison Time Trial and Scratch Race.
Points are scored for each race based on the position of the best-placed rider from each team.
The points accrue across the six rounds and the team with the most points at the end of the season takes the title.
