Ryan Mullen has officially signed for WorldTour outfit Garmin-Cannondale, the team have confirmed.
The 21 year-old said he has achieved his dream of riding in the highest tier of professional cycling and will endeavour to improve in the years ahead.
He has penned a two-year contract which commences in January 2016, though he has signed a stagiare role with the team in the meantime.
Mullen’s move to the team has been mooted for some time now, with stickybottle publishing a story last month on the mounting speculation about a possible switch from his current team, An Post Chain Reaction.
That has now come to pass and along with Kiwi star Patrick Bevin the American team have brought in two of the strongest young riders in the world.
“I have loved riding for the An Post team and they've been so supportive of me,” said Mullen today.
“Kurt (Bogaerts) and the other riders have helped me develop into the rider I am so I have a lot to thank them for.
“I still have a lot more years to develop into the rider I want to be but this is the next step in my career and it’s always been a dream of mine to ride on the World Tour so I’m looking forward to it.
“For me, Cannondale-Garmin is the perfect learning environment.
“They have a wealth of experience between riders and staff and working with them, I will hopefully make big steps forward over the coming seasons.”
Vaughters said he's excited to get working with the Irishman who he regarded as an outstanding talent.
“Ryan is one of the best, if not the best, up and coming TT talents in the world,” said Vaughters.
“It will be exciting to see how he progresses as a rider.”
