Gardai in Dublin are searching for a missing young man and they are appealing to cyclists who ride on what is perhaps the most popular training route in the city to come forward. A bike (above) the missing man, Dylan Keogh, was on when he vanished has been found just off the route used by cyclists on their way to Howth Head.
Gardai have appealed for cyclists who may have seen a missing man along a popular Dublin training route to come forward.
The missing man, Dylan Keogh, was riding his own bike when he vanished. And now that it has been found in Dollymount, gardai are appealing to anyone who may have seen him in that area.
The location where the bike was found is along a route taken by cyclists to and from Howth Head, which is popular with Dublin cyclists.
And since a continuous segregated cycleway opened along the seafront at Clontarf, Dollymount and Sutton the volume of cyclists on the route has increased.
Gardai are trying to establish if Dylan Keogh (18) cycled to Dollymount and abandoned his bike there for some reason.
If so, it is very likely he would have used the same route many racing and leisure cyclists do when out for a ride in that area.
Indeed, the last sighting of him last Friday week, January 11th, was in the Clontarf area.
The Garda and the family of Dylan Keogh and are very concerned for his welfare. He has not been seen since January 11th.
Any cyclists riding in the area last Friday week who may have seen Dylan Keogh, either with his bike (pictured above) or without it, are asked to contact Ballymun Garda station.
And if any cyclists think they have seen him and were also using a bike-mounted camera or helmet-cam, they should review that section of footage they recorded along the seafront area.
Dylan's bike was located at the dunes at Dollymount Beach and gardai are appealing to anyone who was in the area to get in touch with any information.
The 18-year-old is described as 5'8" in height. He is of slim build with dark, shoulder-length hair and brown eyes.
He was wearing a navy onesie, black runners and a blue bandana when he went missing from his home in Glasnevin.
"Gardai wish to renew their appeal, and seek the public's help in tracing the whereabouts of 18 year old Dylan Keogh who was last seen in the Clontarf area on the 11th January,” a Garda statement said.
"His bike was located in the Dunes, Dollymount Beach, Clontarf, Dublin 3, and we wish to appeal to anyone in the vicinity, who may have been in the area to contact the Gardaí with any information they may have.
"Dylan's family and Gardaí are very concerned for his wellbeing and ask anyone with information to contact Ballymun Garda Station at (01) 666 4400, the Garda Confidential Line 1800-66-111 or any Garda Station."
