Michael O'Loughlin's Irish champion’s kit by Team Wiggins is absolute quality. He hasn't got a chance to wear it before now.
Michael O'Loughlin's Irish champ's kit by Team Wiggins
Michael O'Loughlin has finally got to display his Irish champion's kit as designed by his Team Wiggins squad.
Because he is the U23 road champion, he only gets to wear the jersey when he is riding U23 races with his trade team.
He's been in U23 action in the Baby Giro in Italy so we're finally getting a look at the kit.
O'Loughlin has ridden U23 races with the national team in recent months. But he has worn the 'classic' champion's jersey, with no team livery.
The Irish champion Team Wiggins kit, by Rapha, simply replaces the Wiggins banding on the chest and cuffs with Irish touches.
Across the chest is a wide green band with shamrock emblem. And around the sleeves are the colours of the Irish flag.
It's a 'less is more' design and we like it a lot.
Unfortunately O'Loughlin has come down with a bug in Italy and been forced out of the race.
So we probably won't see this kit again, unless he defends the U23 title on Sunday week in Wexford.

The team has gone for the Irish champion's livery on top but stuck with the classic Team Wiggins shorts. A wiser move than white shorts we feel!
Michael O'Loughlin on the podium at the nationals last year. He's worn this jersey when on international duty.
